With summer coming up, many people are starting to think more seriously about getting fit and getting their beach or bikini body into a suitable state. If you are keen to work out regularly but can’t be bothered dragging to the gym, or perhaps if the gym is just too far away from where you live, then investing in a garden gym could be just the thing for you.
If you plan to work out on a regular basis, or if you make sport or training a serious hobby or career, then investing in your own gym space and exercise equipment can actually work out cheaper in the long run that paying for a gym membership. It also gives you the option of working out privately, with no other distractions around you and saves you from having to force yourself to get all your gear together and go out when it comes round to those dark and cold winter evenings.
Another advantage of using one of our garden buildings as a gym is that it gives you the flexibility of working out whenever and as much as you want. You won’t have to queue for equipment, search for a locker in the changing room or question the hygiene of the showers, if you can even get in one without having to wait – at home, all of your own facilities are to hand. You can even install a shower room as part of your gym to save you going back into the main house if you wish. Our bespoke garden rooms are completely customisable to your needs.
Before designing your garden room, think about what your gym requirements are. It might not be just you using the gym, but could be for your whole family to use, so what is the likelihood of there being more than one person working out at the same time? Also think about how many different pieces of equipment you want to install. Both of these factors will determine how much space you need. If you are adding a shower room, remember that this will also take up additional space. Of course, you will also have to think about how much space you have available in your garden, and fortunately we provide buildings of all different sizes, so you should be able to find something to suit without any problems.
Many of our users find that they love working out in their garden rooms because they get a tranquil and relaxing view of their garden as they do so. You can choose to have additional windows and even a sky light added to your customisable room, and being exposed to the extra natural light can really make a difference to your well-being. You may wish to also install some long mirrors to further reflect the light around the room – and these will also help you to monitor your form while working out too. Having extra windows also means that you can have extra ventilation, which is particularly important when working out in the summer months.
