The Wimbledon Project

The client came to us wanting more than just a garden studio. They needed a separate office space for work, guest accommodation with kitchenette and en suite, a hangout area for their children and an enclosed parking space for a luxury car. With limited space and Tree Preservation Orders to bear in mind, we had our work cut out for us. But being architects we welcome a challenge.

Creating their perfect natural space

After positioning the enclosed car park at the rear of the site, we began creating the studio. The office area and guest accommodation were located at separate ends for privacy, then we designed a mezzanine chill-out pad with a sloping roof to minimise any visual impact to the neighbours. Finally, we placed the kitchenette at the back of the building, which created a sprawling, open plan living room. Not only did we complete their perfect building studio and car park, we also proved that one Ecospace can be as many spaces as you want it to be.
